Remote Monitoring with the Gemstone™ Diagnostic Tool

In keeping with today’s technology, ELCON has created and developed our very own Group Elevator Management Supervisory Tool referred to as the GEMSTONE. The Gemstone system allows access to your elevator operation by way of “Ethernet” local area network (LAN) communications from anywhere at anytime. This system, first developed and introduced in the 1980’s by ELCON as DAVO. (Data Acquisition Video Overlay) is specifically designed to aid building managers and security personnel in monitoring elevator traffic patterns and performance conditions remotely from any location.

GEMSTONE provides a moving elevator display in real time. It can be utilized as a troubleshooting device to detect precise operational inaccuracies or specific equipment malfunctions. It can be used to analyze building traffic patterns, or used to ensure heightened security by allowing the customer the ability to remotely lock down any elevator or specific floor at any time. It’s capabilities are virtually unlimited.

The GEMSTONE diagnostic service tool allows access to vital information regarding the historical data and stored security parameters for each elevator or group of elevators. Regardless of the type or vintage of equipment that exist within your facility, GEMSTONE will adapt to both new and old elevator systems. All that is needed to access the video display of any elevator group is a personal computer and the GEMSTONE version 1 software.
